News

September 25, 2007: KICKASS!!! Few things happening today. First, friend of 4YG and Guitar Shredder Extraordinaire Erik Kluiber of the kickass hard rock band Overloaded submitted our song 'Run From Me' to an online Battle of the Bands over at www.metalsludge.tv, and it's getting sweet reviews! Here's one:

New Maiden in the Intro Pt1. GNR in the Intro Pt2. Vokes fall into 90's alt-punk. As for the whole song, very well done. It has that "universal appeal" feel to it.

Secondly, if 4YG were still rockin' out today, we'd be taking the next week off today because HALO 3 just came out. If you see sumtinhuge hit you upside your head yelling "BOOM!", you'll know 4YG was there. Now quite screwing around, and make sure to catch a 2 Hour Limit show.--PEACE

August 8th, 2006: It's been quite a while, but is there evidence of a possible comeback?!? See for yourself:

Proof, or some sick joke? The latter, of course. Don't forget to drink your ovaltine.

May 4th, 2004: WOW!!! The response to the new song has been great! The site has been really slow, and thanks to all of the guys that are mirroring the songs for us. Hopefully, we will have the duplication done soon for those that are interested in getting a full CD. Don't steal music, but if you steal our music, please share it with everyone! Thanks again to all of the Halo fans! And if you really liked that guitar solo, make sure to check out Inner Recipe's site.

January 12th, 2004:  As you can tell, we haven't posted any news in almost a year. It's not because we've been so busy in the studio, but because we played our last show on March 14th of last year. That's right, Four Years Gone is no more. But wait, there is more. Even though the band is done, we still spent much time in the studio last year and recorded a new EP that will be out sometime this year. It features 5 of the songs written by the last lineup that you all know and love, and features some sweet guitar solo work from Erik Kluiber from Inner Recipe. It has yet to be named, but I promise that it will be sweet. Also, Jeffy went and formed a new kickass band, 2 Hour Limit, taking our own Mr. Wisniewski with him. Check them out on there website, but it gets updated almost as infrequently as this one. Anyhow, keep an eye out for the new CD, ask Dave for a copy of the bootleg DVD of the last show, and pray that Halo2 comes out soon.

January 18th, 2003:  We'd like to thank all of you who came out to the Blind Pig last Friday to support us as we opened for Inner Recipe and I Decline.  Special thanks to Riverside Drive's Xina Warrior Princess for taking some pictures!!  We were a little nervous for our first show in three months, but it went quite well  except for some ugliness at the end of the night when Joe's Pork Pie drum stool was stolen by several members of an unnamed band that was also playing that night and was not from Chicago.  These bastards sent us a horrifying email showing them torturing Joe's little Porky, take a look at the pictures if you have the stomach for it!!.

We'd also like to thank Free Beer for letting us close down the New Way Bar last Saturday and TJ for busting out War Pigs with us.  Also huge thanks to Mr. Erik Kluiber (one of only two seemingly innocent members of Inner Recipe) for hanging out that evening.  Next time we'll play "Talk Dirty to Me"!!!

We have another show with these unsavory characters on March 14th at Outriggers in Whitmore Lake.  This is a fun place to see a band if you don't like the typical dirty scuzzy rock club, so YOU BETTER BE THERE!!!  We'll go swimming in the lake afterwards.....

November 15, 2002:  Huge apologies for the lack updates.  No time, motivation, FTP problems, etc have kept us from keeping you updated.   We had a very busy summer, capped off with a show in October with Inner Recipe in Tiffin, OH (which just got hit by a tornado!).   Inner Recipe is one of the best bands out there and we'd encourage all of you to check them out, hopefully we will be playing with them again soon.

We're taking some time off from gigging to try to get some new material together for 2003.   It took awhile, but the ideas seem to be coming fast and furious now.  As we work out the rough demos we'll try to post a few of them on the music page.  Look for a new CD next summer.  This website will get a bit of an overhaul in the meantime.  Stay tuned!

August 10, 2002:  Hank is in rehab.   Not so much for his drinking or his anger but for his lack of motivation.  I'm filling in for him. My name is Paul and I hate computers......

Ok, here's what's going on:  We have a whole bunch of new shows announced.  Check the front page for a complete list.  This Friday is Rubbles in Mt. Pleasant.

We have written three new songs for our next CD.  If you were at the Elbow Room or Lili's shows then you heard "27" and "Be That Way".  They are pretty different than the stuff that's on "Shrink My World", definitely a darker feel.  Our third new song doesn't have an agreed-upon title yet but if you make it to Rubble's you'll catch the debut of it.  I think Dave wrote it about a video game....

July 9, 2002: Updates?!? You want UPDATES?!?!?  Let's start off with Paychecks.  Rockin' good show.  The band said that they had a blast playing with Scapegoat; not so sure what those other guys were doing.  Damn near broke an 4YG attendance record!  Scalici's:  Dude, it was the day after the Red Wings won, how could it be anything but a sweet show?  There is even a bootleg of the live performance.  Find me at the next show and I'll get you a copy if you want one.  Many thanks to Paul, Pete, and the rest of the staff, the band had a great time.  Thanks to Brothers from another planet!  If you haven't seen this band, you really have to.  Their energy is incredible.  And last but surely not least, the band wants to thank all of the great fans that tirelessly show up to all theses shows!  Also, as promised by yours truly, next week I'm gonna be posting some little audio snippets of what is to come for 4YG!  Make sure to keep an eye on the site, because I promise I'll be updating it more than the last few months.  Dude, get off my butt.  I just got over my hangover from the Stanley Cup party!  -- Hank the angry drunken webmaster

May 23, 2002:  Alright, this is for the Soccer Mom's and porno fans alike... more of what you love is being added.  4YG has found that not only does Georgie know how to play the ssab, but he also has a couple of contacts as well.  Make sure to check out the main page for the upcoming shows he has been able to hook up, and keep a close eye on it 'cause more are being added all of the time.  I know I promised a sneak peek at what these guys have been recording, but I haven't been able to sneak out a copy yet.  Don't worry, I'll get it.  Until then, enjoy your weekend festivities.  I'm going up north for some drinkin', chewin', hockey watchin', and if this damn weather don't get better, snowmobilin'.  --Hank the angry drunken webmaster

May 8, 2002:  Sorry I haven't updated the site in a while, but I've been standing in line for Star Wars tickets for the last month and a half.  I'd still be there except that some dude dressed a Yoda outfit kicked my ass and took my spot in line.  So, here is the update.  Yes, the rumors are true: 4YG has gotten themselves a new bass player.  Georgie Evans is moonlighting from his normal gig playing for Free Beer to join 4YG in their quest for rock domination.  They don't want the secret out, but they are writing new material and it sounds awesome.  I'm secretly trying to record some of it, and as soon as I do, I'll have it up on the site for you.  They just got done rocking the town of Toledo, OH at The Bottle Rocket.  They ended up doing their first headliner ever, and spiced it up with a 20 minute jam session.  And if that weren't enough, Dr. Paul even let Eugene kick out a tune on his kit.  Besides that part, the whole evening rocked!  I have heard that there are some bootleg videos of the gig floating around the net; if anyone sends me one I'll post it up.  4YG told me to thank Gerg for once again helping out and a great big thanks to Heide and Jay the sound man from The Bottle Rocket.  You guys rule!     --Hank the angry drunken webmaster

February 22, 2002:  We wrapped up our winter tour with Sourmoon at Howard's Club H in Bowling Green on Wednesday night.  It was a very cool club to play at as the sound was good and it had cheap beer.  Schwag opened up and we had a great time watching their drummer; check them out at the Elbow Room next month.  We'd like to thank Greg for coming down with us and taping the show.  He is a true rock n' roll soldier.   Most of all we'd like to thank Sourmoon for giving us these great shows for the past two months.

February 15, 2002:  We hope everybody enjoyed our show last night at the Wooden Nickel. We know its tough to come out on a Thursday night, especially on Valentine's Day, but we love you for it! Everything seemed really relaxed and we had one of our best shows. We gotta give a few shout-outs: Thanks to Sourmoon for setting up the show and giving us the chance to play, we really liked the acoustic set. Eugene also loved the cookies; he ate three of them! Thanks to Exit 53 for warming up the stage. Very special thanks to Jen Applebee for all her hard work promoting the show!!

Feb. 11, 2002:  4YG wants to thank you, the faithful grunts in the 4YG army for coming out Saturday for our show at the Blind Pig.   We love to see you out there!  For those of you who were looking for something "outrageous" to happen, sorry.  Eugene Norchester ended up eating the tinfoil-wrapped cucumber he was supposed to put in his pants.  He said it just looked so good he couldn't resist.  He used a gherkin pickle instead but it fell out on stage.  Special thanks to Greg for the lights and Jen for pushing CDs in the effort to recruit more pawns in our quest for world domination.  We hope to be back at the Pig in a couple months.  In the meantime we are headed over to Ypsi for a special Valentine's Day show at the Wooden Nickel with Exit 53 and Sourmoon.  Get there by 9pm.   Also, on Feb. 20th we will be at Howard's Club H in Bowling Green, OH for our first road trip.  If you want a ride down there send us an email and we'll get you one.

January 10, 2002: Wow. What a night! Our show at the Blind Pig last Friday was awesome. The 4YG army came out in force and we really appreciate it. We hope you enjoyed one of the best shows we've played (we think) because we loved givin' it to ya! You guys really made us feel good with all yer support. We have a couple new shows scheduled with Sourmoon, one at the Wooden Nickel in Ypsilanti on Feb. 14 and another in Bowling Green, OH on Feb. 20. We really like these guys and we think you will too, be sure to stick around to catch their sets. Also, as some of you know we are selling our new CD "Shrink My World" at the shows for $5. If you can't make it to a show they will soon be available on Amazon.com. They won't be $5 however as Amazon won't let us sell it for less than $8.99 and they take 50% of that. So get to a show and save some $$$. Also, WKRK 97.1 FM will be playing some tracks from the new CD this Saturday between 10pm and 2am. Listen, or you'll regret it forever.

December 23, 2001: Thanks to all who came out to the Elbow Room last night. Those who got there early got to see a genuine Elbow Room barfight! Whee-OOOO!!! Thanks also to the bands we played with last night: Make Mr. Proper, Pillowblock, and Ramshackle. They were all really cool and it made for a real fun night. Our new CD "Shrink My World" is back from the factory and will soon be available on Amazon.com! Until then you can pick one up by either coming to the Blind Pig show on January 4th or if you are lucky enough to see one of us in person. The CD is only $5 and it's our first full-length studio recording. Click on the "Tunes" link at the top of our webpage to go to mp3.com to hear a couple of the songs.

December 15, 2001: We are hoping to have some copies of our brand new CD "Shrink My World" available at our show next Saturday at the Elbow Room. It's been a long time in the making but we think everybody in the whole world will like it. Also, we have a new show scheduled at the Blind Pig on Friday, January 4th with Sourmoon! If you don't like us (for some unimaginable reason) you should at least show up to check these guys out as they will rock your pants off.

November 8, 2001: Conrad Agincourt, III here reporting on our last show.....Many of you have asked me why I wore a leather helmet and trench coat while I rocked the hayoz. Let me tell you it's all about sex appeal. When I saw how hot my homies in the band were looking (especially Jonny) I had to go all out to impress the ladies. Needless to say it worked quite well, although Eugene Norchester almost hooked up with a blonde chick who was falling out of her dress. Also, some dude kept hitting on the good Doctor Paul and threatening to take his pants off. Stop it! If I wanted to see sausage I'd go to a Trash Brats show! Anyways, hope to see you all at the Elbow Room in December. Rock on!

October 14, 2001: We have a new member! Your lovable trio has now become an even more lovable foursome thanks to our new drummer, Mr. Joe Rork. We have just started practicing with him and plan on debuting his talents on November 3rd. Our pals in the band Circus of Soul are having a huge post-Halloween bash at the Southfield VFW. There will be plenty of booze and food and we will be opening for them. We'd love to see you all there to give Joe a big 4YG welcome! Also, the party is being put on by C.O.S., but please be cool and chip in a few bucks to help cover their expenses. You can give anyone of us in the band your donation and we'll make sure it gets to them. Also, our CD has finally finished the mixing process and its off to NYC this week for mastering. It's taking a little longer than expected but it will all be worth it. And finally, Dave got married last month and Jason is engaged. Congratulations to both of them as they enter the world of marital bliss....uhhhhhh......

August 5, 2001: Thanks to all the folks who showed up at Club Bart! We had a great crowd there to support us and we had a great time. Sorry we didn't have any brand new songs to debut but we promise we will next time. Also thanks to Radium for letting us open for them. They are the coolest! We are headed back to 40oz Sound to do some more recording for the upcoming album. We are tentatively calling it "Shrink My World" and hope to have it done (recorded, mixed, mastered, duplicated, packaged, ready for sale) by October. That will probably be when our next show is as there is a monumental event happening in the life of one of the 4YG boyz in September. See you in October at a venue TBD!

June 30, 2001: Sorry about not updating in so long, STOP WHINING! 4YG was at 40 OZ. Sound recording tunes for our first studio album. We dialed down five songs and are working to get five more done before we go back in August. Goto the pix page to see some footage of us looking like we are working hard. Also, the show at Jacoby's went well. It was really cool to play in downtown Detroit, too bad it was during the Downtown Hoedown! There were a millyun people down there and it took frickin' forever to get to the gig. We had a few technical problems, but it went down OK. Check out the pix page for jpgs of that show.

April 24, 2001: We have some new shows to announce! Many, many thanks to Radium for letting us play with them on a couple of their upcoming shows. We will be playing with them and Violet Skin at Jacoby's in Detroit on Saturday, May 19. Jacoby's is located at 624 Brush Street just around the corner from St. Andrew's Hall. We will also be playing with Radium on Friday, July 27 at Club Bart in Ferndale. Club Bart is at 22726 Woodward just south of 9 mile. Will the ROCK ever STOP?!?!?

April 16, 2001: Another great gig at the Elbow Room! This one was a lot more fun because we got to play with two great bands: Rogerbox and Meniscus. We dumped some CD swag on unsuspecting patrons and met some real cool people. Special thanks to Leighton at the E.R. and to Brian of Rogerbox for being cool and letting us go second. We're headed to the studio in less than two weeks. Yikes! We're still working on some new shows and hope to announce those soon.

March 15, 2001:  Thanks everyone for coming out to the Elbow Room on the 3rd. We've been told it sounded like a "jet engine". That's good right? Anyways, we have another show scheduled at the Elbow Room on Friday April 13. We will be playing with Meniscus and Rogerbox. The Elbow Room is located at 6 S. Washington St in downtown Ypsilanti. It is just south of Mich. Ave. We should be going on between 10:30 and 11:00. Work is still being done on the next album with five songs being prepared for the studio in late April.

Feb. 27, 2001:  The band is getting geared up for the show this Friday at the Elbow Room. The Elbow Room is located at 6 S. Washington St in downtown Ypsilanti. It is just south of Mich. Ave. We should be going on between 10:30 and 11:00. In other updates, some photos from the last show at the Blind Pig are up on the website now. ROCK ON!!!

Feb. 1, 2001:  The gig at the Pig was a success! We are really happy that we had so many fans come out on a freezing Tuesday in January. You guys rock! We are still awaiting the pictures from the gig so we can put them up here. In the meantime we are writing new songs and booking new gigs. Catch us at the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti on Friday March 2. We will have a new song to debut there: "Morphine". While you anxiously await the pix from the past two shows, you can check out some old pictures that have been added on our "Pix" page from some gigs we did a looooooong time ago.

January 3, 2001:  The "true" millenium is here, and computers still aren't smart enough to run the world let alone design our web page for us.  The show in Troy went OK, we had some technical problems but at least its over with.  Look for pix from the show soon!

December 26, 2000: Two new shows have been announced.
One on New Years Eve in Troy. We'd love to invite you but
if this is the first you've heard about it too bad. The other
show is Tuesday, January 9 at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor.
We would love to see everybody out there buying all the
beer they can afford.

Other news: Work has begun on the next album. We plan
on heading into 40oz. Sound to record the first four songs
this spring and the second half this summer. If you don't
have a copy of our current "Behold the Basement" demo CD
send us an email and we will figure out how to get you
one.
